On March 20th, at the 500-kilovolt Huairou Science City power transmission and transformation construction site in Beijing, more than 30 workers used telescopic boom cranes to carry out the installation of the exterior walls of the distribution equipment building. A 500-kilovolt steel structure substation has taken shape. The project resumed work on March 17th and is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. It will be the first indoor steel structure 500-kilovolt hub substation in Beijing, and after its operation, it will further optimize the 500-kilovolt double-loop network structure in Beijing and meet the high-reliability power supply needs of major national scientific research projects in Huairou Science City.
" We have adhered to the principles of stable resumption of work, quick commencement of construction, and strong guarantee, strictly controlling the resumption threshold, consolidating the safety foundation, and achieving full resumption and full commencement of construction for all power grid projects in the first quarter, and fully ensuring a 'good start' for power grid investment in the first quarter," said Zou Yu, the director of the Construction Department of the Construction Division of the Beijing Electric Power Company of State Grid. Currently, the company's 83 ongoing power grid infrastructure projects have all resumed work. Among them, the 500-kilovolt Fangshan Substation capacity expansion project has fully entered construction, and it plans to complete the capacity expansion of two main transformers within the year. After its operation, it can enhance the power supply capacity of the Beijing southwestern region's power grid; the Chaoyang District 220-kilovolt Houxia power transmission and transformation project is currently carrying out the hoisting of the main steel structure on the ground, and is planned to be put into operation in 2027. At that time, it can provide reliable power support for areas such as the Fourth Embassy District, further optimizing the power grid layout of the functional areas of the capital city.
To ensure the safe and orderly resumption of all projects, State Grid Beijing Electric Power has strengthened the management of the entire process of the projects, strictly implementing safety standardization requirements, and implementing the "seven-step method" for resumption of each project item, insisting on resuming one step at a time; strengthening the coordinated control of the entire supply chain of materials, implementing key prompt delivery, on-site supervision, efficient testing and priority distribution for key materials such as main transformers and switch cabinets, and fully ensuring sufficient, reliable and timely arrival of project materials.
Entering the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, State Grid Beijing Electric Power continues to improve the complementary and interdependent and safety resilience level of the Beijing power grid, fully supporting major projects and high-tech industries in Beijing, actively serving the power supply needs of people's livelihood, and assisting in the energy development coordination of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
