Technical upgrades for distribution switch cabinets and standardized design for pole-mounted circuit breakers have been initiated.

Recently, under the overall coordination of the Equipment Department of State Grid Corporation of China, the China Electric Power Research Institute took the lead in organizing 15 provincial power companies and 32 well-known domestic manufacturing enterprises to establish a special research team. They initiated the technical upgrade and standardized design of switch cabinets for distribution network switch stations, as well as the standardized design of one-to-two integration magnetic holding type pole-mounted circuit breakers.
High-voltage switch cabinets (including air-insulated switch cabinets and environmentally friendly gas-insulated switch cabinets) are key equipment in the distribution network that perform functions such as power distribution, control, and protection. Their operational reliability is crucial to power supply safety and service quality. In recent years, the scale of distribution network construction has continued to expand, and problems such as moisture condensation in traditional air-insulated switch cabinets have become increasingly prominent. At the same time, as the distribution network transitions towards environmental protection, traditional air-insulated switch cabinets face the demand for environmental replacement. Magnetic holding type pole-mounted circuit breakers (including magnetic control switches and permanent magnet switches) as a new type of one-to-two integrated intelligent switch equipment have gained widespread application in the distribution network in recent years due to their advantages such as miniaturization, high stability, and intelligence. The improvement in the reliability requirements of the distribution network has placed higher demands on the sealing performance, anti-interference ability, etc. of this equipment. However, there are many manufacturers of environmentally friendly gas-insulated switch cabinets and magnetic control type pole-mounted circuit breakers, with significant differences in structural designs and uneven product quality, making it difficult to carry out maintenance, replacement, and reserve of spare parts after operation.
Under the overall deployment of the company, following the principles of "safe and reliable, sturdy and durable, standardized and unified, universal interchangeability, reasonable classification, and wide applicability", the High Voltage Research Institute of China Electric Power Research Institute took the lead in initiating the technical upgrade and standardized design of switch cabinets for distribution network switch stations, as well as the standardized design of one-to-two integration magnetic holding type pole-mounted circuit breakers. They focused on the selection principles of environmentally friendly gas-insulated switch cabinets and magnetic control type pole-mounted circuit breakers, typical structural schemes, main interface parameters, key component configurations, and test and inspection details, conducting standardized design research to enhance the general interchangeability and operational convenience of the equipment, promoting large-scale equipment renewal and green and low-carbon transformation in the energy and power sector, and facilitating the construction of a new power system and the realization of the "dual carbon" goals.
